BEST DRESSED OF THE WEEK!!!!

Charlize Theron easily won this week in a Atelier Versace Fall 2008 dress. This dress spiderweb-esqe one-shouldered embellished gown, was my favourite gowns from Donatella's Fall 2008 Atelier collection.Charlize wore this dress to her premiere of The Burning Plain. Charlize wore a few other stunning dresses, Below.
She had worn this stunning fuchsia dress from Versace's Resort 2009 collection, which colourwise really pops on her. This dress is very interesting with the folds and the detail on the hip.I am very glad opted for those black buckle Roger Vivier heels, and not those pink runway shoes.
Here in a Gucci Fall 2008 dress, which Charlize Theron wore to the party for her new movie. Here we get to see the full beauty of the draped gown with metal embroidery and chain detail.

LOOK OF THE DAY!!

As seen on runway. This vibrant Matthew Williamson Hayward print dress for $1,195 is the modern way to wear tartan. Wear it with opaques and neutral accessories for pared-down chic. Shown here with a Miu Miu Classic slouchy tote for $540 and Giuseppe Zanotti Cut out shoe ankle boots for $495.

America Ferrera

America Ferrera pulled back her trademark wavy hair to show off the neckline on her striped Diane von Furstenberg Resort 2009 dress, which she wears with white Christian Louboutin Jolie Noeud Dorcet sandals.I love America and she does wear this dress very well.

Victoria Beckham

The former Spice Girl was a vision in a white Giambattista Valli Fall 2008 dress , in her angelic sleeveless sheath dress, which she teamed with a pair of sequined silver Christian Louboutin heels as she posed for the paparazzi. What I find very interesting and love was her little black Peter Pan-esqe hat.

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez looked very chic in her red sheath dress earlier this week. On this occasion she is still chic, but also very sexy in this cute pink Versace Fall 2008 mini dress. She still has it. In fact she never lost it.

Sofia Vergara

Sofia Vergara also opted for a black mini dress. She seems to be very much moving away from her overtly sexy image which made her famous.

Twinkle Admires Jean Seberg

Twinkle designer Wenlan Chia has her eye on iconic actress Jean Seberg. For Spring, her schoolgirl charm is translated to classic tailored pieces, made over with sporty elements. But she keeps things feminine with bohemian artistry. These two looks demonstrate the juxtaposition. As the designer put it: "The blend of colors, textures, vintage inspired prints, and tailored silhouettes give my collection a classic, romantic quality — reminiscent of Jean Seberg’s legacy." Cute, right?

Victoria Beckham

Last night she headed out with friends wearing a beautiful black satin Giambattista Valli Spring 2008 jumpsuit looking stunning when she arrived at the trendy Ithaca restaurant in Manchester.LOVE the jumpsuit and the slick back hair.Love her or hate her, you can't deny how chic she always looks.

Eva Herzigova

Eva Herzigova more than makes up for her early faux pas by blinding me with her stunning beauty in this white strapless Valentino Spring 2007 Couture gown.I particularly love the skirt details.

Claire Danes

Claire Danes wears another stunning Valentino Spring 2008 Couture cocktail dress. The colour is just divine on her.Her tulle hemmed dress was heavily embroidered with gold vine and leaf details, as well as pink flowers.

Diane Kruger

Diane Kruger hits it out of the fashion ball park in this one-shouldered pink Valentino Spring 2007 Couture gown. The draping on the hips is gorgeous, as it gives her a very sensual silhouette.

Reese Witherspoon

How lovely to see the philanthropic Reese Witherspoon on this Friday. The actress fulfilled Avon global ambassador duties in a girlie navy blue halter ruffle dress, paired with gorgeous blue satin Christian Louboutins. It's a fitting choice for the charity event and goes perfectly with Reese's sweet personality. To add some shine, the actress accessorized with gold bracelets and small gold hoops.

Blake Lively

Just because Gossip Girl Blake Lively has hit instant fame doesn't mean she can't still shop on a budget. She can and she did recently with this Alpinestars Chambray Shirtdress ($68) she wore on her way to The Late Show With David Letterman. The bodacious blonde is really into casual shirtdresses, but considering the weather is warm and her body is hot, I can't blame her. I like how she rolled up the sleeves and went unbuttoned for an effortless feel. The dress could use some ironing, but since it's a casual style, it works

LOOK OF THE DAY!!

As seen on the runway. Dress night for day in Burberry Prorsum's metallic mini dress. Top off the look with a statement knit and partner with boots and a roomy tote. Shown here with Christian Louboutin $430 boots, a Marni $250 necklace, a Burberry Prorsum $1,295 jacket and a Burberry $1,495 bag.

SHOE OF THE DAY!!

Put the focus on your feet with these Giuseppe Zanotti Tri-color pumps for £400. For day or night they guarantee you a standout finishing touch. Multicolored patent leather, suede and satin pumps with an approximately 5 inch heel and 0.5 inch platform. Giuseppe Zanotti shoes have a peep-toe, ankle strap to fasten and cut out detailing.

Emmy Rossum

Va va voom, Emmy Rossum really ups the ante in this very sexy black leather Paige Black Label dress with cut out detail.I totally love it, as it goes against every cute little prom dress she was wearing this time last year.

Jennifer Lopez

Looking so fabulous in a red ensemble with matching heels, Jennifer Lopez is very much a sophisticated woman who has truly grown out of her JLo phase. Her style is more mature, yet not too stuffy, as she still maintains her sex appeal without looking tacky like Christina Aguilera did recently. Not to sure about the blonde hair pieces, as I prefer her as a natural brunette

Tilda Swinton

This custom Alberta Ferretti gold silk gown is much simpler than Tilda Swinton's previous Dior look on the red carpet yesterday, but I love the way it drapes. She accessorizes with a simple bracelet.

Dennis Basso Is Feelin' Breezy

With celebrity fans like Kim Cattrall and the ladies of Lipstick Jungle, Dennis Basso always churns out luxurious red carpet-worthy gowns and dresses. It's safe to safe evening garb is his fortĆ©. For Spring, Basso is "feeling strong about the American sea side, patio dressing, breezy Summer evenings and fabrics that move.” His sketch is dramatic and beautiful.

Eva Mendes,

Eva Mendes’ YSL tribute pumps really stand out despite the unusual nature of her full-skirted John Rocha Spring 2008 dress. The black patent belt nips in her waist to give more volume to her skirt

Solange Knowles

Tina does not do footwear, so I am not too sure who is to blame for Solange Knowles wearing those ridiculous furry booties.Sadly she is trying way too hard.

Eva Mendes

Eva Mendes would have definitely turned heads today in her strapless multi-tiered Viktor & Rolf Fall 2008 gown, when she arrived to the official launch party for ACP Magazine’s 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty in Sydney earlier today.I like the dress, especially the staple details, but I am not sure if it is an "Eva Mendes" type of dress, as I would expect someone with an edgier fashion style to wear this.

Madonna Tour Costumes!!

Arianne Phillips, the brain behind the seams of Madonna's costumes is at it again. With the singer's upcoming Sticky and Sweet tour, launching Aug. 23, the costume designer is hard at work putting together a fashion masterpiece. Similar to her previous concerts, Madonna's costumes will range across four different influences: gangsta pimp, art deco, gypsy, and futuristic.Topping the list of collaborating designers are Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci, who designed the singer's signature dominatrix costumes; Tom Ford, who provided custom suits for the band; custom-made shoes by Miu Miu and Stella McCartney; sunglasses from Moschino, and other outfits and accessories from Roberto Cavalli, Jeremy Scott, and Yves Saint Laurent.

LOOK OF THE DAY!!

Roberto Cavalli's appliquƩ cotton blouse is the perfect way to soften some of fall's rigorously tailored pieces. Layer it over a satin cami and partner with tapered pants and tough-chic patent ankle boots. Shown here with a Roberto Cavalli Leopard ponyskin beltfor $615 , Sergio Rossi $765 Over-the-knee boots are essential to wear this season. These suede Sergio Rossi boots are a dramatic and achingly hip finish to any ensemble. The out fit is complete with a $875 Jimmy Choo bag and J Brand Cigarette leg jeans for $165.

Shoe of the Day

Bows are a key trend for fall and these Fendi $350 pumps in chic tones of gray make them the perfect evening choice. Taupe-and-gray satin platform pumps, approximately 5.5 inches high with a 1.5 inch platform and bow on front. Fendi shoes have a peep-toe and simply slip on. Sarah Jessica Parker recently worn these shoes promoting Sex and the city.

Trends: Lace

Miuccia Prada revamped lace's musty image by creating surprisingly modern full-lace ensembles in brown, powder blue, nude, orange and of course black. The collection was shown back in February, but now we've seen the lace everywhere. In editorials, to the red carpet to high street versions. It seems like everyone has fallen in love with lace.

What starts on the runway, is advertised, then it appears in editorials, then it hits the red carpet.Charlize Theron showed us all how lace can be worn, and how fantastic it looks for those who had doubts.Tilda Swinton did not fair as well in her dress, which she wore to the Costume Institute Gala, in my opinion, as I think there were edgier pieces from this collection, which would have suited her style better.Campaign girl Linda Evangelista, opted to mix nude with black. As beautiful as Linda is, she struggled to pull it off. In fact I think anyone would struggle to pull this off, but kudos to her for trying.English actress Rebecca Hall opted for a very safe lace dress, which she wore to the Vicky Cristina Barcelona LA premiere with Prada peep-toes.We have not seen many celebs dare to try this trend, but I am sure we will see more after they have seen Charlize's spectacular results. This trend is not just for celebs. We can already find this trend in our stores.

Whitney Port

Whitney Port may be the lowest-paid reality star on The Hills, but that's not stopping her from buying herself covetable accessories. While hanging out with her new beau in NYC recently, she showed the world her gorgeous Gucci Hysteria Bag ($1,395). It goes hand-in-hand with Gucci's fabulously folky Fall collection and gives Whit's hippie tie-dye look a touch of exotic. The tapestry design reminds me of a plush Persian rug. Swoon.

Tracy Reese's Green Gardens

Tracy Reese is a contemporary designer I always appreciate. Her ultra-femme designs aren't the most fashion-forward, but they are lovely and wearable. And, we already got a sneak peek at her Spring offerings.
Reese was inspired by nature through the seasons, so green will be plentiful. Also, we will witness pastel prints inspired by Japanese art featuring chrysanthemums and hazy blue skies, while structured leather (ooh!) is softened with touches of leaf appliquƩ. The designer will play with architectural shapes and laser cut lace to mix things up. Until Fashion Week . .

Rebecca Taylor's Spring Muse Is the World Traveler

Don't you love having a preview of what's in store for Spring '09 before it's even on the runways? I'll keep 'em coming, don't you worry. If Tracy Reese is a nature lover, Rebecca Taylor is a travel hound. But both American designers share a love of everyday pretty clothes.
Taylor gets nostalgic and worldly, appreciating the fragility of loved, stored-away clothes, and the fantasy of stepping into another time. Her dresses, bound to be numerous, have intimate detailing and ethereal layers of florals, chiffons, and lace. A neutral palette paired with rich jewel tones and watercolor designs deliver modernity and opulence. The Rebecca Taylor girl for Spring '09 is a bohemian world traveler: "She mixes her inherited couture pieces from her French actress mother with great finds gathered from exotic locations around the globe." She, sounds like someone I'd like to befriend.

Tilda Swinton

Tilda Swinton arrived at the 2008 Venice Film Festival, and earlier today with Brad Pitt and George Clooney, her co-stars from Burn After Reading, for a photo op.I know you are going to think I am crazy, but there is something beautifully strange about Tilda Swinton in this Christian Dior Resort 2009 ensemble. It shouldn't work, and I am sure many of you are thinking it does not, but I love it.The colours clash vibrantly, the lantern sleeve is very much on trend, and the shoes are to DIE FOR.We are not used to seeing colour on Tilda, who usually sticks to darker colours, so for me this is very refreshing.

SHOE OF THE DAY!!!

Note the dramatic detail on the heels of these Giuseppe Zanotti ankle boots. Show them off with a pair of 7/8th ankle cropped pants. The Gray leather ankle boots has art deco embellished metal heels that is approximately 4.5 inches high and a 0.5 inch concealed platform. Giuseppe Zanotti ankle boots have an almond toe, elasticated panels on each side and a pull tab at back of heel.

LOOK OF THE DAY!!

As seen on the runway. Channel Marianne Faithfull this coming party season in this rock 'n' roll fringed $690 Temperley London Mini Ermine dress.Accent the look with glamorous silver and black accessories and some fabulous footwear. Shown here with a Paul & Joe $445 jacket, Christian Louboutin $420 shoes, a ChloƩ $400 bag and a Philippe Audibert $155 bracelet.

Jessica Biel

After months of getting it 'not quite right' Jessica Biel gets it 'oh so right' in this taffeta Stella McCartney one shoulder dress with matching peep-toes.Maybe she has a new stylist.

Kirsten Dunst

Oh KiKi, what happened?Kirsten Dunst opts for a plain grey denim dress with black loafers. My heart breaks. :-(

Selma Blair

Selma Blair's Nathan Jenden Fall 2008 dress is very daring and I really like it.Lace inserts have been added to the cut-out's below the waist, so Selma does not feel so exposed. She completes her look with some very interesting asymmetric pointy Christian Louboutin heels.
